What a week

Well, It has been a long and eventful week.

This week as you know, I started teaching summer intensive courses. For me that only means two extra coursed to teach a day, but then I must make vocabulary lists for those classes. These lists are from 5-10 words and I need to put down a definition and a sentence with each. I then have to make a quiz for each on. So I need to make 40 lists and quizzes. I am not done them, but it keeps me busy. I am back to 12 hour days as I teach these classes and I have from 6 (Thursday) to 11 (Wednesday) classes a day. It is busy, but I am here to teach so that is okay.

Friday night we went out for a goodbye meal for two teachers who are leaving. We went to a meat restaurant (I forget the name) and what you do is pick a piece of meat from the butcher by the door that is raw and they cut it down and you pay for it. Then they cut is smaller and bring it to your table. You then cook it on little gas stoves that are built into the table. We spent a lot of time here and it is quite delicious. I don't know if you know this, but in Korea they give you many free side dishes. So we have radishes, green peppers and Kimchi (fermented spicy vegetables) and soup. We then went out to the most popular area for younger people to hang out and it was busy! But some places are open 24-7 or until 4 or 5am and then close. So we stayed out and I did not get home until 5:15am. But, for Koreans that is normal! Not for me. It turns out that my camera fell out of my bag somewhere in the restaurant or on the way home and i am now camerless. Saturday I went to visit Jennell who lives a 30 minute subway ride away from me in a 'satellite' city just outside of Seoul. It is a beautiful place built 15 years ago and there are trees everywhere. I really miss that in Seoul. Well, I actually miss dry skies more. Monsoon season is at it's height and my umbrella is a second purse. Saturday night I had a cockroach in my room and it was not pleasant. I hate bugs. Especially when they are where they are not supposed to be! My landlord is coming to check my house tomorrow night so hopefully I do not have any more. I am really tired and just want to sleep and not worry about bugs! Today we went to church and there was an extra 25 people because the church is hosting English camp. So it was neat to talk to the people who were from all over the States. They could not understand why we wanted to live here for a year! Quite funny. This evening Jennell and two Korean friends came over and it was really nice to see them again.

Next week I teach Monday, then Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday i go to training. Thursday and Friday I have off. Friday I am going to a water park with my Korean friends and Jennell and I do not have to wear a bath cap they said, though I don't believe them. Everybody wears them here apparently. I am not sure if it is to keep the water clean or their hair clean:)

I am still really enjoying the food and I will attach a picture of chicken soup. They put a huge chunk of chicken in some broth and it is chicken soup. They mainly only eat it in the summer. I will also attach some pictures of the money here and two of my Korean friends and Jennell. For those that don't know, Jennell is my old roommate from my first two years at college.

Thinking of my friends around the world and God is keeping watch over all of you!

God bless!

It looks like they are keeping you pretty busy. Do you think you will ever have time to travel? I had some Korean food here in London; I don't think it is as good as the real thing.

No I don't really have time to travel. Maybe this week I will go to some palaces and next week I will go on a Seoul tour with some Korean friends. My schedule will eventually slow down so I will have time to travel.
