God has been really challenging me these few months in Korea.
From something as easy as telling kids what the spelling of different words are
to struggling with God's will and the church. The church I am attending now wants to start a Global Generation program that will basically teach the Bible in English so kids can learn English and go and do missions. Korea is the second or third largest country to send missionaries oversea, but many of them only stay one year. I was told that the main reason is because of the language barrier. I am not sure what to think of that. I just know that I don't know if I should volunteer for this. The Pastor keeps saying this is his vision and there is a split about weather or not this is the vision of God or just of the Pastor. The other problem is that he is starting it September 27th. That is really soon and they do not have enough teachers right now. The pressure is on because they want only foreign teachers. Please pray that we will be able to see what God desires of this and if He wants me to teach there. I am really busy at work for this month and into the next month and so that is also holding me back.
On the bright side. I walked home through Olympic park today and saw the Peace Gate. Quite neat. Apparently it is a huge tourist attraction. The park is beautiful at night. All grass and lakes and trees. Very nice to walk through.
This weekend I am going out for supper with my co-workers which we do most Friday nights. Saturday I might go wedding dress shopping with one of my friends! Quite exciting. Yes, another wedding. I am not sure if I entered about the other wedding I went to...I am pretty sure I did. This wedding will be in a hotel so it will be different. I am quite excited. Also, I will be meeting some friends from college and we will be going to Costco. So that will be good.
Tonight I cooked my second meal here in Korea (I have baked for people as well). Usually I just eat breakfast, lunch from school and sometimes buy a supper...sometimes just eat whatever is at school. I made Teriake chicken...really easy and yummy and had it with sea weed. Pretty Delicious if I do say so.
I want to leave you with this.
If you are busy rowing the boat, you wont have time to rock it:) (Phil Callaway).
And the real reason to rejoice:
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
John 14:25
God bless and I love each of you!
