Moving

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Well, this week was eventful.
On Wed. I decided to move. My boss, thought it was a good idea and the school had an empty apartment until this Monday, so wed. night I started packing. Thursday I started making some trips to the new apartment. It is about three blocks away. I made a total of 10 trips with things. I had to move food and cleaning supplies and dishes as well, so carrying them took time.
Jennell helped me clean my apartment, and two of my friends and a mover helped me move my bed. My new apartment is on the first floor (my old is on the fifth) so i keep walking past it. ahaha. good exercise. I moved because I was not comfortable with my landlord, so the school was really good about that.
This week a new teacher arrives, so he will be observing and training. Next week he begins teaching, so I hope that I will be working less. As it is, this month i receive 29 overtime classes. Wow. Just realized that! Amazing! But, the money has been useful.
There is a lot of strain now, because teaching 9 or 10 hour days really strains on you after three months! We are looking forward to only teaching 8 hour days.

Well, today was a really good day.
Our Minister preached on Job.
He said something I thought was really interesting. Pride is what you think of God. It is breaking the first commandment. You are placing yourself higher than you should, and are worshiping yourself.
I have never thought of it like that, and I can see his point.
I spent the whole day with church friends and i really enjoy it. They are lots of fun to hang out with. The one thing I cannot get used to is how much Koreans talk about appearance, and weight and pretty much everything to do with outward looks. I am usually very patient, but lost it a bit today on one friend! Whoops! Telling her she is part of God's creation, and when she keeps complaining about herself and mocking others, she is abusing God's creation. I think I shocked her a bit, but I was loving and I hope I gave her something to think about!
Well, I hope you are all doing well, whether in struggle or easy time, keep on being thankful, and looking above!
